A circle is a superficial closed shape that contains a rounded side whose ends meet to create a ring-shaped figure. The term circle is derived from the Latin word 'circulus' which indicates a small ring. It is a superficial shape created by a collection of points that are at a fixed distance from the centre on the plane. The established point is called the origin or the base of the circle and the unchanged distance of the points from the origin is called the radius. There are several portions of the circle which must be known for recognising the properties of a circle. Circle is constructed by taking a sheet of paper and highlighting a single point on the paper by the naming the centre as A, an established length for radius is chosen ie 5cm, a scale is used, the testimonial zero point is used on the point A and erratically highlight 5cm away from the point A in every direction. Majority of the points can be highlighted from the point A but every points must be exactly 5cm away from the point A.
Boundary of the circle : It is mentioned to as the perimeter of the circle and can be described as the extent of the limitation of the circle.
Radius of the circle: Radius is the distance from the centre of the circle to any point on its boundary. A circle has an unlimited number of radii.
Diameter: A diameter is a horizontal line moving through the centre that links two points on the limitation of the circle. There are numerous diameters in the circle but they should

- Be horizontal lines
- Interconnect the border of the circle at two different points which lie opposite to each other
Chord of a Circle: A chord is any line segment joining the circle at two distinct points on its boundary. The longest chord in a circle is its diameter which passes through the centre and separates it into two similar portions.
Tangent: A tangent is a line that touches the circle at a single point and lies outside the circle.
Secant: A line that bisects two points on a bow or border of a circle is called secant.
Arc of a Circle: An arc of a circle is referred to as an angle which is a fragment or a portion of the perimeter of the circle.
Segment in a Circle: The area covered by the chord and the identical arc in a circle is called as a segment. There are two types of segments- minor segments and major segments.
Sector of a Circle: The sector of a circle is identified as the area covered by two radii and the identical arc in a circle. There are two types of sectors - minor sectors, and major sectors.

The perimeter of a circle is solved by the following equation = 2*3.14* radius cm
The area of a circle is solved by the following equation = 3.14*(radius)^2 cm
Attributes of a circle
The necessary basic attributes of a circles are as follows:
- The exterior line of a circle is nearest from the centre.
- The diameter of a circle separates into two similar parts.
- Circles which have similar radii are consonant to each other.
- Circles which are distinct in shape or having different radii are equal.
