Hindusthan Unilever had telecast the beginning of the ‘Swaach Adat, Swaach Bharat’ campaign similar to the mission “Swaach Bharat Abhiyaan” to promote good health and hygiene practices. In that online programme launched by Hindustan Unilever Limited, it tells people to wash their hands with soap five times a day, drink safe, purified water, use a toilet for peeing and defecation, and keep the toilet clean after use. Though the term may sound rubbish, the movement indicates three healthy practices that can continue in the long run in managing poor health. Hindustan Unilever Limited highlights that it has reached 120 million people in India, including 63 million people through the Lifebuoy handwashing movement, 56 million people through Pureit’s safe drinking water and building more than 3,000 toilets through the Domex Toilet Academy. Hindustan Unilever Limited started an online campaign on YouTube presented by children who are meeting the requirements to sanitise hands and defecate and urinate in hygienic toilets and drink pure water. The movement marks three companies from Hindustan Unilever- Domex, Lifebuoy and Pureit. The movement thinks that encouraging personal hygiene is necessary as the development of sanitary facilities to understand the Clean India Mission or Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan. Earlier, Lifebuoy had launched a movement to decrease diseases such as diarrhoea and pneumonia and increase awareness about the need for washing hands. The YouTube medium Help a Child Reach 5 summoned people to make a promise and shifted it to the Facebook medium. # HelpAChildReach5 was the hashtag used for the marketing of the movement. Though the movement aimed at increasing awareness of the need for handwashing, the Facebook medium didn't focus on handwashing habits, but only consisted of a promise icon and the ad film. But the movement Haath Mooh Aur Bum is the easiest way to handle the problems in a video that is two minutes long. The entertaining video with an engaging slogan tends to make a change in the attributes of people through children. The goal of the movement was to connect with the slum population in Mumbai and Delhi. The movement was easy and understandable to memorise, and the engaging catchy phrase of ‘Haath, Muh, Bum’ and the fact that children are trying to introduce excellent habits in adults turned out to be the model of the movement. Internationally, companies and organisations have understood the need for hashtags and the culture is to undoubtedly manage all social media giants. But Hindustan Unilever Limited didn't allow a hashtag initiative to make a drone for each social media platform, but, held the movement on YouTube the established way by simply using a tagline. The movement is very deceptive and carefully touches the three necessary health concerns through their items- Domex, Lifebuoy and Pureit, by promoting three items in just over two minutes. Because the movement does not have a social media presence, it stops reaching a majority. Twitter, Facebook, or any other social media platform except YouTube is not viewed widely when communicating about the campaign. But, with valuable content, it is likely that Haath, Muh and Bum will connect to the main target audience.
