Chintu was a small boy who loved to draw cartoons. He had many crayons, but he had no magic. He lived in a small village with his mother. Every day after school, he would sit under a big mango tree and draw. He would draw cars, houses, birds, and his favourite cartoon character, a little puppy named Bingo.
One day, while drawing under the tree, Chintu found a strange old sketchbook lying in the grass. It was dusty and had stars on its cover. He picked it up and opened it. The pages were empty. There was a small note on the first page. It said, "Draw with a true heart, and your drawing will come to life for one hour."
Chintu was very excited. He thought it was a joke, but he wanted to try. He took his red crayon and drew a small ball. As soon as he finished drawing, the ball became real! It jumped out of the sketchbook and started bouncing. Chintu was shocked and happy. He laughed and played with the magic ball for one hour, then it disappeared.
The next day, Chintu had a bigger idea. His mother needed water from the well, but the bucket was broken. Chintu drew a new strong bucket in his magic sketchbook. The bucket became real, and his mother could bring water easily.
Soon, Chintu started helping everyone in the village. He drew a bicycle for the postman whose cycle was broken. He drew kites for all the small children. He drew a soft bed for his old grandmother. Everyone in the village loved Chintu and his magic sketchbook.
But there was a greedy man in the village named Kallu. Kallu saw Chintu's magic and wanted the sketchbook for himself. He wanted to draw gold and money. One night, Kallu stole the sketchbook from Chintu's house.
Kallu went to his house and started drawing. He drew a big pile of gold coins. But because his heart was not true and he was greedy, the drawing did not become real. Instead, the gold coins drawing turned into a pile of stones. He drew a big car, but it turned into a small toy car.
He became angry and drew a big monster to scare Chintu. As soon as he drew the monster, the monster became real! But the monster was not under his control. The monster started chasing Kallu around the house. Kallu was very scared and shouted for help.
Chintu heard his shouting and came running. Chintu was a kind boy. He quickly took his sketchbook back and drew a big cage. The cage became real and trapped the monster inside. Then he drew a kind policeman who took the monster far away.
Kallu felt very ashamed. He said sorry to Chintu. He said, "I was greedy. Your magic works only for good hearts."
Chintu forgave him. He said, "This sketchbook is for helping others, not for being greedy."
From that day, Chintu and Kallu became friends. Chintu still used the magic sketchbook, but only to help people. He learned that true magic is not in the sketchbook, but in a kind and helping heart.
And sometimes, at night, when Chintu draws Bingo the puppy, Bingo becomes real and sleeps with him for one hour.
