My Devil Love - First Meeting - Part 8

Avyansh and Ayesha, after their simple wedding in their 1BHK in Gomti Nagar, celebrated with 30 slum kids over samosas. They received a 2 crore investment from a Dubai Sheikh for their dream school. In the evening, they visited Rathore Mansion, where Rajveer and Sunita Rathore finally accepted Ayesha as their daughter-in-law. They returned to their small 1BHK, which they call their world.

Now, the story continues...

The next morning, Avyansh and Ayesha woke up to the sound of drilling. Not their alarm, but a real drilling machine.

Ayesha ran to the balcony in her night suit. Downstairs, a big board was being installed on the empty plot in front of their house.

The workers were fixing a board that said - "This land is now owned by Rathore Group."

Ayesha's heart stopped. She shouted, "Avyansh! Come fast!"

Avyansh came out, rubbing his eyes, "What happened? Is there an earthquake?"

Ayesha pointed down, "Look! Your father's board!"

Avyansh looked and his face went pale. He immediately called his father.

"Papa, what is this board? This land was for our school!"

On the phone, Rajveer Rathore laughed, "Good Morning, son-in-law. I bought that land last night."

"What? But we were going to buy it today! We had finalized it!"

"Exactly. That's why I bought it before you. Now it costs you zero rupees. It's a gift from your father to my daughter-in-law."

Avyansh was speechless, "Papa..."

Rajveer continued, "Listen, Avyansh. Don't get emotional. That land is 8000 square feet, not 5000. Your plan was too small. If you want to build a school for 100 kids, build a proper one. My architect will reach your place in one hour."

Ayesha took the phone, "Papa ji, but this is too expensive. We can't take it for free."

Rajveer's voice became soft, "Beta, a father can give a gift to his daughter. You don't say no to it. And one more thing, don't call it Rathore School. Give it a name that belongs to you both."

After the call, Ayesha and Avyansh looked at each other. Tears were in Ayesha's eyes, but these were happy tears.

That day, the entire lane celebrated. The 30 kids were dancing because their new school was going to be right in front of their old small classroom.

At 11 AM, the architect came. He was a famous architect from Lucknow.

"Mr. Avyansh, Mr. Rajveer has told me everything. He wants a 3-floor building. Ground floor - free school for slum kids. First floor - library and computer lab. Second floor - your residence, so you can always watch over the school."

Ayesha was shocked, "Our residence on the second floor?"

Avyansh smiled, "Yes, Devil Love. Papa wants us to stay close to our dream. And I also want that. Our 1BHK was lucky, but now we need a bigger lucky house."

They spent the whole day planning. Ayesha, who was an English literature student, wanted a small garden with books. Avyansh, who was the Devil of Royal College, wanted a basketball court for the kids.

In the evening, they went to Rathore Mansion for Sunday dinner, as promised.

Sunita had cooked Ayesha's favorite dish - paneer butter masala. She had also bought a new saree for Ayesha.

"Ayesha beta, try this. I bought it for you. For your first formal dinner as Rathore bahu."

Ayesha wore the saree. It was a beautiful red Banarasi saree. When she came downstairs, Avyansh could not take his eyes off her.

His mother noticed and teased, "Avyansh, close your mouth. Your wife is not going anywhere."

Everyone laughed. Rajveer, who was usually very strict, was also laughing.

During dinner, Rajveer announced, "I have one more surprise for you both."

"What surprise now, Papa? You already gave us land," Avyansh said.

"I have invited the Dubai Sheikh to Lucknow next week for the Bhoomi Pooja of your school. He wants to meet the couple who rejected his 5-star hotel deal and chose to stay in a 1BHK to teach poor kids."

Ayesha became nervous, "Sheikh is coming here? To our small house?"

"Yes, and he is bringing media too. Your story will be covered by many channels. Are you ready?"

Avyansh held Ayesha's hand under the table, "We are ready, Papa. Because our story is true."

After dinner, when they were leaving, Sunita stopped them.

"Ayesha, one minute."

She went inside and brought a small velvet box.

"This is for you. It was my mother's. My mother gave it to me when I got married. Now I am giving it to you."

Ayesha opened the box. Inside was a beautiful gold necklace with a small devil pendant.

Sunita said, "Avyansh told me he calls you Devil Love. So I made this devil pendant specially for you. You are the only one who could tame my Devil."

Ayesha hugged Sunita tightly, "Thank you, Mummy ji. I will never leave your Devil."

That night, back in their 1BHK...

Ayesha was standing in front of the mirror, wearing that devil necklace. Avyansh came from behind and hugged her.

"So, Mrs. Devil Rathore, how does it feel to be officially accepted?"

Ayesha turned around, "It feels like a dream. Two months ago, I was a simple college girl who was scared of you. You were the Devil who ragged everyone."

"And now?"

"And now, I am married to that same Devil, and I love being his Devil Love."

Avyansh kissed her forehead, "Tomorrow we have to decide the name of our school. Any ideas?"

Ayesha thought for a while, "Umeed was good, but we need something bigger now."

"What about 'Devil Love School'?"

Ayesha laughed and hit him, "No! It sounds like a playboy school."

"Okay then, 'Ayesha Avyansh Public School'?"

"Too boring."

They both sat on the floor with a notebook, just like they used to do in college.

After one hour of fighting over names, Ayesha wrote something and showed it to Avyansh.

It said - "OUR WORLD SCHOOL - Where Every Child Belongs"

Avyansh read it and his eyes lit up, "Our World School? Because our new world started in this 1BHK?"

"Yes. Because this school will not be just a building. It will be a world where no child is judged by money. Where every child is a Devil Love."

Avyansh hugged her, "Perfect. Our World School it is."

He immediately called his father and the architect and finalized the name.

Next week, Bhoomi Pooja Day...

The entire Gomti Nagar was decorated. A big stage was set up on the new land. Media vans were there. The Dubai Sheikh, Mr. Al-Fahim, had arrived with his team.

He was a tall man with a kind face. When he saw Avyansh and Ayesha, he smiled.

"So, you are the famous Devil couple of Lucknow. Rajveer told me a lot about you."

Ayesha touched his feet as a mark of respect, which surprised him.

"You have great values," he said.

The Bhoomi Pooja started. The priest chanted mantras. Rajveer and Sunita were sitting as the elders. Avyansh and Ayesha were sitting together, holding hands.

When the priest said, "Now put the first brick," Avyansh picked up a brick, but he gave it to Pappu and Gudiya.

"They will put the first brick. Because this school is for them."

Pappu and Gudiya, with their small hands, put the first brick. All the media cameras clicked. It was a historic moment. No school in Lucknow had ever started with slum kids putting the first brick.

Mr. Al-Fahim was so impressed that he announced on stage, "I am increasing my investment from 2 crores to 3 crores. Because this is not a school, this is a revolution."

Everyone clapped. Ayesha was crying. Avyansh was trying to be strong, but his eyes were also wet.

After the ceremony, while everyone was having snacks, a reporter came to Ayesha.

"Ma'am, one question. Many people said you married Avyansh for his money. What do you want to say to them?"

Before Ayesha could answer, Avyansh took the mic.

He said loudly, "She did not marry me for my money. In fact, she married me when I had zero money. When my father kicked me out, when I was living in a 1BHK with a broken fan, she was the only one who stayed. So if anyone says she married for money, they should come and live in our 1BHK for one day."

The reporter was silent. The crowd cheered.

Ayesha whispered to Avyansh, "You didn't have to say that."

"I had to. Because my Devil Love deserves respect."

That evening, after everyone left, Avyansh and Ayesha were sitting on the empty land, on the first brick laid by the kids.

The sun was setting. The sky was orange.

Ayesha kept her head on his shoulder, "Avyansh, what if we fail? What if the school doesn't work?"

Avyansh looked at her, "We will never fail. Because we have 30 small bosses who will scold us if we fail. Remember Pappu? He will come and say - Bhaiya, you are lazy!"

Ayesha laughed, "Yes, he will."

"And even if we fail, we have our 1BHK. We will start again. Our world is small, but it is strong."

Ayesha looked at the board that now said - "OUR WORLD SCHOOL - Foundation laid by Pappu and Gudiya"

She said, "I love our world, Avyansh."

Avyansh kissed her hand, "I love you more than our world, Devil Love."

They sat there till it became dark, dreaming about classrooms, library, garden, and 100 kids laughing.

Their new world had officially begun. Not in a mansion, but on an empty plot with one brick.

And that one brick was stronger than any mansion in the world.
