What Is love?

What is love,
when a heart is full of love?
And when love is one-sided,
what can we say about it?

How can we fall in love with someone
without them even knowing?
We long for them every hour,
we remember them every moment,
yet they remain unaware.

In just one meeting,
my heart became attached to you.
I wonder what it was in your voice
that touched my heart so deeply.

I had spoken my heart to you,
yet somehow,
my words remained incomplete,
and my feelings were left unspoken.

Is there no truth in love?
And if there is,
why does the world within my heart
remain unknown to you?

I wanted you in my life,
to make you a part of my world.
I never wished for anyone else
the way I wished for you.

You have no idea
how often I cry in your memories,
how I whisper your name in silence,
and share with it
the feelings I cannot tell anyone.

Am I not good enough?
Or is there something missing in my love?
Why can the voice of my heart
never reach yours?

I liked your voice,
and perhaps that was where it began.
An unfamiliar feeling entered my heart
and slowly made it its home.

I told you,
“I will never forget you.
I have accepted you as my own,
and I will never leave your side.”

But you said to me,
“Do not love me so deeply
that my leaving one day
causes you too much pain.”

Perhaps you did not want to hurt me.
Perhaps you understood
that if our love remained incomplete,
my heart would be left in sorrow.

I told you,
“I miss you.”

You asked me,
“Have you fallen in love with me?”

And I finally said,
“Yes, I have fallen in love with you.
Yes, my heart has fallen for you.”

You said,
“You are a good person.
Please focus on your studies.
There are some circumstances,
and this love may never find its fulfillment.”

What were your circumstances?
I still do not know.
What was there in your heart?
I still cannot understand.

We no longer talk,
yet I still miss you.
The days somehow pass,
but the nights drift away
lost in thoughts of you.

Even now, a question rises within me:
Do you ever miss me too?
Do the words I once said
ever touch your heart?

Perhaps you want me
to be a part of your life.
Perhaps somewhere in your heart,
there are feelings for me too.

But how long can I live
holding on to these perhaps?
How long can I call you my own
without knowing what I mean to you?

What is love,
that it can happen in a single meeting?
One heart accepts someone as its own,
while the other
may remain unaware of that feeling.

Does love lose its truth
when it remains incomplete?
Can loving someone sincerely
really make them ours?

Or is this what love means—
to love someone with all your heart,
to cherish their memories,
and to live quietly
with countless unanswered questions?

What is love, after all?

An unspoken feeling,
an unfulfilled longing,
or countless unanswered questions
left between two hearts?

Love is different from every other feeling.

It is finding happiness in their happiness,
and feeling their sorrow as our own.
When they are upset,
something within us grows quiet too.

Their thoughts begin to find a place in ours,
their laughter becomes our laughter,
and their tears touch our hearts.

The dreams they see
slowly become our dreams,
and without even realizing it,
their happiness becomes a part of our own.

Perhaps this is what love truly is—
not merely wishing to have someone,
but sincerely wishing for their happiness,
even when words cannot express
everything the heart feels.
