Do not yearn to quench your thirst with an incomplete soul;

As I journeyed on—

People in this world are always on the lookout for a quarrel;

In a rush to achieve success in life—
the naive human chooses the easiest path.
Day after day, in an attempt to gather all the things one desires— The foolish human wanders aimlessly here and there,
Terrified to look within his own self.
He busies himself counting the faults of others.
Plagued by countless unfulfilled desires,
The foolish human is forever found in sorrow.

It is not easy to speak the matters of the heart,
Nor is it easy to endure them in silence.
If you can, read the circumstances in one’s eyes;
It is not easy to give voice to what lies within.
Sometimes, things are too hard to digest,
And just as difficult to hear and accept.
In time, they eventually surface, my friend;
It is not easy to keep them buried deep inside.
A lifetime passes, yet—stubborn as they are—
These matters of the heart remain difficult to express.
